Mumbai rain: The weather took a sudden turn in Maharashtra's capital Mumbai and it rained heavily late Thursday evening. Heavy rain accompanied with thunder and lightning occurred in many parts of Mumbai. The situation was such that roads were submerged in water at many places.
There are reports of waterlogging in some low-lying areas of the metropolis due to heavy rains. Many people were surprised by the sudden rain. As the India Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued only 'yellow' warning for light to moderate rain in the financial capital.

Impact on Navratri festival
The ongoing Navratri celebrations were disrupted due to rain and the 'Garba' plans of many people were also ruined. Due to heavy rains, Elphinstone Road area of Mumbai was flooded. Same was the condition of NM Joshi Marg located at Prabhadevi. Similarly, there are reports of waterlogging in many areas.

Yellow alert for many districts
Here, the Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of heavy rain in many districts tomorrow i.e. on October 11. According to the Meteorological Department, 29 districts of Maharashtra are on yellow alert on October 11. There is a possibility of heavy rain in these districts. IMD says that there is a possibility of rain along with the storm in Mumbai's eastern suburbs, Navi Mumbai and Raigad. The Meteorological Department has predicted rain with strong winds for the next two hours.

Rain forecast in other states also
Amidst the heavy rains that started in Mumbai, IMD has predicted heavy rains in many states also. According to IMD, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall over Kerala, Mahe and Tamil Nadu during the next 3-4 days. During this period, there is a possibility of rain in Karnataka, Goa, Ghat region of Maharashtra, Gujarat region, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya.
