While working as a cook in a government school, Meenaben was suffering from unbearable stomach pain, vomiting and weight loss for the last 4 months. He was referred to a private hospital in his native place Dhulia as the initial diagnosis was found to be a tumor in the stomach. Where he was told the cost of the operation would be Rs 2-3 lakh.
Meenaben's family, who was in a modest financial condition, could not afford the expense, so they investigated further, after learning about the free health services available at Smeer, she consulted Dr. Harish Chauhan, a professor at Smeer, for diagnosis. Came to. Hospital in Surat.
After proper investigation, a 19×14 cm large tumor was detected in his stomach near the pancreas. After doing all other necessary tests, on October 1, Dr. Harish Chauhan and his team performed a complex 6:30-hour surgery to remove a 1.10 kg pancreatic tumor from the patient's stomach. Which was sent to the laboratory for further investigation including biopsy and other tests. After about 10 days of post-operative treatment, patient Minaben was discharged after complete recovery.
