Palamu, September 25 (HS). The three-day Khelo Jharkhand-2024 organized at the local district school ground under the aegis of Education Project Palamu concluded successfully on Wednesday. The students proved their talent in Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Volleyball, Chess and Yoga. All the winning teams and players of the district will now participate in the state-level sports competition. Regional Education Joint Director Durganand Jha rewarded the winners and runners-up by giving them cups and medals.
Congratulating the players, he said that the nation is amazed by your excellent performance. Therefore, through this platform, you should move forward with patience and discipline. The prize distribution ceremony was conducted by teacher Parshuram Tiwari.
In under-14 Kabaddi, Sadar Medininagar in the boys category and Tarhasi in the girls category, in Kho-Kho, Leslieganj in the boys category and Sadar Medininagar in the girls category, and in volleyball, Tarhasi in the boys category and Panki in the girls category, the teams became winners. While in under-17 Kabaddi, Sadar Medininagar in the boys category and Chainpur in the girls category, Hussainabad in Kho-Kho boys category and Sadar Medininagar in the girls category, and in volleyball boys category, Chainpur and Sadar Medininagar in the girls category, achieved the honour of becoming winners.
In Under-19 Kabaddi boys, Mohammadganj and girls, Hussainabad, in Kho-Kho boys, Sadar Medininagar and girls, and in girls volleyball, Leslieganj team hoisted the flag of victory. In chess, Pushpam Kumar, Durga Kumari, Piyush Tiwari, Priya Kumari, Abhishek Gupta and Gulnaz Khatoon wrote the story of victory on the chess board in their respective categories.
Sadar area education officer Hari Prasad Thakur, APO John Muthu and C-3's Akash Kumar were present on the occasion.
Sanjay Tripathi, Kamalanand Dubey, Upendra Kumar, Abhilash Chanchal and their team handled the referee duties very well. Alok Tiwari, Saket Shukla, Arvind Dubey, Pawan Yadav, Avinash Tiwari, Shiv Prasad Yadav, Shrikant Yadav, Kamlesh Dubey, Kaushalesh Tiwari, Anupam Tiwari, Anand Madhav Pandey, Alok Mishra and Shailendra Prasad Singh along with many physical education teachers working in the district played a commendable role in making Khelo Jharkhand a success. The players' morale did not drop even due to the intermittent rain.
