Students trained in essential life saving skills

Jammu, 13 December (HIST). NSS and NCC units of GGM Science College in collaboration with Civil Defense Organisation, Jammu organized a one day awareness program focusing on disaster preparedness, safety measures and first aid. The program was conducted by Principal Prof. (Dr.) Romesh Kumar Gupta who emphasized the importance of security awareness in today’s fast-paced world. Pro. Gupta highlighted that such initiatives are important in equipping students with the practical skills required to deal with emergencies thereby contributing to their overall development and service to the community.

Held at the conference hall of the college, the session focused on training the attendees in essential life-saving skills like CPR, wound management, disaster evacuation techniques and basic fire fighting measures. The session was led by officials of Civil Defense Jammu including Paramjit Kumar, Chief Warden; Vijay Magotra, Deputy Chief Warden; Sandeep Bhat, Sector Warden; and Parshottam Kumar and Rajinder Kumar, trainers. Dr. Vandana Khajuria, Dr. Purushottam Singh Manhas, Dr. Pawan Kumar, Dr. Aarti Sharma, Dr. Sumiksha Thakur, Prof. were present in the program. Mehnaz Bano, Dr. Arun Sharma and Prof. Eminent faculty members including Akanksha Sharma were present.
