Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar said that this institute is not only a center of education, but it is also a symbol of a tradition that has embodied the values of knowledge, innovation and national service. Referring to the glorious history of the institute, he said that it was established in 1926 with the aim of bringing revolution in the field of mining and technology. This institute is a mirror of the educational and industrial development of the country and today it has created its own unique identity.
The Governor was addressing the 99th Foundation Day celebrations of IIT (ISM), Dhanbad as the chief guest on Monday. The Governor said that today when our country is rapidly moving towards becoming the third largest economy in the world under the leadership of the Prime Minister, the role of institutions like IIT (ISM) becomes even more important. The students studied here have not only achieved educational achievements but have also made invaluable contributions in building the society and nation.
Appreciating the contribution of the institute, the Governor said that IIT (ISM) is not just a story of technological and academic success, but is also an inspiration for innovation, entrepreneurship and social change. The Governor called upon the students to not limit their education to personal success only and ensure their contribution in the service of the society and the nation.
The Governor congratulated the entire IIT (ISM), Dhanbad family on its Foundation Day and expressed hope that this institute will play an important role in achieving the goal of Developed India 2047 by continuing its tradition of knowledge, innovation and service. He expressed confidence that IIT (ISM), Dhanbad will actively move towards achieving more excellence in the coming years and will create its own unique identity in the world with its contribution at the global level.
