Varanasi, 07 October (HS). After Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth, students in Kashi Hindu University (BHU) as well as Uday Pratap College have started becoming vocal about the restoration of student union. On Monday, a group of students protested near the central office of Kashi Hindu University, demanding reinstatement of the student union and also submitted a memorandum to the registrar of the university. Abhay Pratap Singh, Himanshu Rai and other students warned during this time that if the student union is not reinstated in the university, we will protest.
On the other hand, a group of students in Uday Pratap College demonstrated by garlanding the statue of Rajarshi Uday Pratap Singh Ju-Dev located on the campus and demanding reinstatement of the student union. The students also raised slogans in front of the college principal's office demanding restoration of the student union. While submitting the memorandum of their demands, the students said that if the college administration does not take a decision for the restoration of the student union by Navratri, we will be forced to carry out violent agitation. On getting information about the students' demonstration, Shivpur police also reached the spot.
