Iran hijab protest news: Women in Iran have long opposed hijab. Recently, the case of a woman taking off her clothes in the middle of the road to express her protest has come into discussion. According to online viral videos and media reports, a woman did this in public at an Iranian university on Saturday in protest against Iran's strict Islamic dress code.
The video went viral on social media
In a viral video posted on social media, security personnel of a branch of Islamic Azad University have detained an unidentified woman. Giving this information on the social media platform, university spokesperson Aamir Mehzoob said that we have received information that the victim woman was suffering from severe mental pressure and is suffering from mental illness.
Took off clothes in protest!
However, some social media users claimed that the woman deliberately removed her clothes to protest. “For most women, wearing underwear in public is the worst thing ever,” one user on X captioned the video. This is a reaction against the authorities' foolish insistence on mandatory hijab.
The woman will be admitted to a mental hospital
No information has been revealed about this woman yet. Iranian media reported that 'a reliable source has said that the woman responsible for this act has serious mental problems and may be transferred to a mental hospital after investigation.'
Demonstrations begin in 2022
It is noteworthy that in Iran the number of women challenging the authorities by leaving hijab is increasing. In September 2022, nationwide protests broke out following the death of an Iranian Kurdish woman in the custody of morality police for allegedly violating hijab rules.
