East Champaran, July 27 (HS). Student leader Akash Singh Rathore has been suspended from the university till further orders for raising his voice against fake appointments and corruption in Mahatma Gandhi Central University.
Regarding the suspension, student leaders held a press conference on Saturday and called the university's action biased, one-sided and malicious. Student leader Akash Singh Rathore said that since 2018, many people including MP Pappu Yadav and former MP Arun Kumar raised their voices against corruption and illegal appointments in the university, as a result of which the Education Ministry removed the then Vice Chancellor Prof Arvind Agarwal. While many financial matters including fake appointments made during Prof Agarwal's tenure could not be investigated. During that time, many associate professors were appointed by committing corruption on a large scale, in which UGC rules were flouted.
Rathore said that in the cash promotions held in the year 2019, many people were wrongly promoted. The student leader said that Dinesh Hooda, appointed in 2017 to the post of section officer of the university, was wrongly promoted in 2024. I raised these issues through social media and shared many other information including Dinesh Hooda's certificate in its favor. He said that the Vigilance Commission is investigating the Hooda case. Along with this, there are many such cases of fraud in the university, about which I raised my voice, then a Proctorial Manual was made under a conspiracy to silence my voice, which is against the Indian Constitution, fundamental rights of citizens and various laws and on the basis of the same dictatorial manual, I was suspended from the university through a conspiracy.
Leader Punnu Singh said that student leader Akash Singh Rathore has been suspended from the university by the university administration for raising his voice against the fraud and corruption in the appointments at Mahatma Gandhi Central University. All the students of Champaran are united against this. This action of the university administration is condemnable. The university administration is plotting to ruin the career of a student to save its favourite fake people. He demanded to lift the suspension and get the fake appointments in the university investigated by a retired High Court judge. Otherwise all the students of Champaran will come out on the streets and start a big and phased movement. Bhim Kumar, Prince Rana, Nandlal Kumar, Akash Yadav, Chandan Yadav, Vikrant Singh, Prince Singh etc. were present in the press conference.
