Sri Lanka has announced its team for the ODI series against West Indies. There will be 3 ODI matches in the series for which Sri Lanka has announced a 16-member squad. All-rounder Chamidu Wickremesinghe has been included in the Sri Lankan team for the first time for the series against West Indies. Dilshan Madushanka has also returned to the ODI squad, having been ruled out of the 50-over match against India in August due to a hamstring injury. Mohammad Shiraz, who made his debut in this series, has retained his place.
Wanindu Hasaranga returns to the team
Wanindu Hasaranga, who was ruled out of the last two ODIs against India due to a hamstring injury, has also returned to Sri Lanka's 50-over squad, while all-rounder Chamika Karunaratne and spinner Akila Dananjaya have been dropped. Mathisha Pathirana is also out of the squad due to a shoulder injury sustained ahead of the ODI against India, while Dushmantha Chameera and Nuwan Thushara are also not part of the 16-man squad for the ODI against West Indies.
Nishan Madushka has also been included in the team, who was called for the first ODI of the series against India but did not get a chance to play a single match. Sri Lanka, which won the T20 series against West Indies 2-1, will play three ODI matches against the Caribbean team. The first ODI will be played on October 20 while the second and third matches will be played on October 23 and 26 respectively. These three matches will be played in Pallekele.
