Syria vs Israel war updates: With the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s power in Syria, Israel, which is fighting Hamas and Hezbollah, has made a surprise move in Syria and entered the Israeli-Syrian buffer zone to gain control over the Golan Heights, causing international controversy. It has broken out. In this too, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu had described it as a part of Israel, which has drawn strong international reaction. With this, the possibility has increased that Israel will now retain its control over the Golan Heights.
European countries including France and Asian countries including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, Iran, Iraq have strongly opposed Israel’s occupation. Whereas America has considered Israel’s occupation as temporary. In other words it has indirectly supported Israel. Given this, there is a strong possibility that Israel’s expansion in the Middle East will increase further if the Trump administration comes to power.
Despite the attack on Syria, Israel has not stopped attacking Hamas in Gaza. A total of 30 people were killed and many injured in the air strike in Gaza. Now the only question here is how much Israel will attack Gaza now. It is also blocking humanitarian aid.
Israel has fired 350 missiles at Syria in the last 48 hours. It has targeted major Syrian naval bases, ports, Al Bayda and Latakia. More than 15 of his ships have been destroyed in this. Israel described the attack as self-defense. He said that such an attack has been carried out to prevent any future attack from Syria. But questions are being raised on the intention of this attack on the international stage. Experts believe that Israel is unlikely to give up the Golan Heights given Syria’s weak position. Netanyahu has formally declared it Israeli territory.
The Golan Heights are the highest mountain range in Syria. Capture of this mountain range will directly mean that Israel will be able to keep an eye on everything including Syria, Lebanon and Jordan from there. Along with this, in case of possibility of war in future, it will always have an upper hand in the Middle East. Earlier, Golan Heights was won by Israel in the 1967 war, which it had to hand over under the 1974 treaty. Now there is no intention to hand it over again. Israel’s current actions are seen as part of its strategy to occupy the Golan Heights.
