The Indian stock market closed in the red zone today i.e. Monday 28 October. Even in the morning the market opened with a gain of more than 300 points. Today the Sensex closed at 80,005 with a gain of 602 points. Nifty also closed at 24,367, up 186 points. Whereas 25 out of 30 Sensex stocks rose and 5 fell. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 36 were up and 14 were down. All sectors of NSE closed on strength. Nifty Metal had the highest rise of 2.54%.

Top gainers in the Nifty pack today were Shriram Finance up 5.43 per cent, Adani Enterprises up 3.96 per cent, ICICI Bank up 3.08 per cent, Wipro up 2.83 per cent and Isar Motors up 2.67 per cent. The biggest falling stocks at this time were Coal India which fell by 4.08 per cent, Bajaj Auto by 2.07 per cent, Axis Bank by 1.35 per cent, Hero MotoCorp by 1.11 per cent and BEL by 0.95 per cent.
All regional indices in green zone
In the trading session on the first day of the week, all the local indices of the stock market closed on the green mark. Highest increase was recorded in Nifty PSU Bank by 3.98 percent, Nifty Pharma by 1.38 percent, Nifty Metal by 2.40 percent, Nifty Media by 1.92 percent. Apart from this, there has been an increase of 1.09 percent in Nifty Bank, 0.70 percent in Nifty Auto, 0.68 percent in Nifty Financial Services, 0.61 percent in Nifty FMCG, 0.48 percent in Nifty IT, 0.43 percent in Nifty Private Bank, 0.43 percent in Nifty Real 184. . Nifty Healthcare rose 0.30 per cent, Nifty Consumer Durables 0.30 per cent, Nifty Oil & Gas 0.26 per cent and Nifty Midsmall Healthcare 1.80 per cent.
A decline was seen in the market on Friday
Earlier on Friday i.e. 25th October, a huge fall was seen in the stock market. Sensex closed at 79,402 with a fall of 662 points or 0.83 percent. Nifty also fell 218 points or 0.90 percent and closed at 24,180. Whereas smallcap fell by 1,307 points or 2.44 percent and closed at the level of 52,335.
