Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday alleged that the Central government was using people’s lifeline public sector banks as an unlimited source of funds for its scamster cronies. After meeting the delegation of All India Banking Officers’ Federation, Rahul Gandhi in a post on Twitter said that the Modi government has turned this lifeline of the people into personal financiers of rich and powerful corporates.
Public sector banks are created with the aim of providing loans to Indians. Modi government should stop using public sector banks as unlimited funding sources for their corrupt cronies. After meeting the delegation, he expressed disappointment over the condition of public sector banks and its impact on the common man. Rahul Gandhi said that public sector banks are being forced to give priority to profits over the public. Contaminated work environments, understaffing, banks are given targets that cannot be achieved.

After meeting Speaker Om Birla on Wednesday, Rahul Gandhi said that the opposition wants to run the House. According to the general consensus, the opposition parties want to discuss the issue of the Constitution on 13 December. Accusing BJP of running away from the debate on the allegations against industrialist Gautam Adani, Rahul Gandhi said that even though BJP is running away from the debate on Adani, the opposition is not going to leave this issue. Referring to his meeting with the Speaker, Rahul said that he had requested him to remove the derogatory comments made against him. The Speaker assured to keep the matter in mind.
