Stones pelted on Vande Bharat train near Khanna, case filed against unidentified persons | News India

Food: Stones were pelted on the Vande Bharat train near Chava railway station between Ludhiana and Khanna. Stone marks have also been found on the chassis of the train. Railway Protection Force Khanna has registered a case against unknown people on the complaint of the train guard in this regard and started investigation.

The train was going from Delhi to Amritsar

A stone fell on the Vande Bharat train going from Delhi to Amritsar on Sunday evening. The incident happened around 7:50 pm before Chava station. The guard of Vande Bharat informed the Chava station master about this. The station master immediately informed Khanna RPF about the stone pelting. Khanna RPF and GRP teams also inspected the spot and formed a team and started investigation.

Kids were playing near the track

RPF ASI Tara Chand said that according to the train guard, a stone hit the chassis behind the train. He saw children standing on the side of the track. He suspects that they have pelted stones. The investigating officer said that it is also possible that a stone may have bounced off the track due to the high speed of the train. Every aspect is being investigated.

A similar incident had happened a month ago

On July 17, the Delhi Pathankot Express travelling from Amritsar to New Delhi was pelted with stones. The incident took place near Doraha railway station between Ludhiana and Khanna. A stone broke the glass of the bogie's window and hit a passenger's face. The passenger, a resident of Panipat, was injured. He was taken off at Sirhind railway station and admitted to Fatehgarh Sahib Civil Hospital. The injured Yuvraj Singh's teeth were broken and his lips were severely injured.

RPF is investigating: SHO

SHO Ratan Lal of GRP Sirhind said that information was received that some mischievous element had pelted stones on the Vande Bharat train. Neither the train was damaged nor any passenger was injured. RPF is investigating the matter.
