Mirzapur, July 11 (HS). Jamalpur police in Mirzapur arrested a youth who had stolen a Scorpio parked in front of a house during vehicle checking near Jafrapura petrol pump. Along with the stolen Scorpio, an illegal pistol was also recovered.
Sanjeev Singh, a resident of Dabbak in Jamalpur police station area, had given a written complaint at the police station on May 20 regarding the theft of his Scorpio parked outside his house. Superintendent of Police Abhinandan took the vehicle theft incident seriously and directed Jamalpur Inspector-in-Charge Ramnarayan Ram to uncover and recover the vehicle as soon as possible. Based on the information, Jamalpur police arrested Abhinav Kumar alias Shani Singh, a resident of Bihar, during vehicle checking near Jafrapura petrol pump in the area.
During the police search, a stolen Scorpio (fake number plate) and a country-made pistol of 315 bore and two live cartridges were recovered from Shani Singh. An FIR has been registered at Jamalpur police station in the case of the recovered Scorpio.
