The fall in global markets also affected the domestic market on Thursday. After touching a new high a day earlier, the domestic market is witnessing downward pressure in today's early session.
At 9:15 am, both the major domestic indices started trading with a decline. Sensex opened down by about 60 points and Nifty by about 25 points. In the few minutes of morning trading, the market was moving up and down in a limited range. At 9.20 am, Sensex fell by about 70 points and came below the level of 81,715 thousand points. Nifty 50 index closed at 25,030 points, down by 20 points.
Pressure before market opens
The market was under pressure in the pre-open session. The Sensex was up just 0.05 percent at 81,822.56 points while the Nifty was down 17 points to trade near 25,035 points. Nifty futures were trading in the red in the morning at GIFT City before the market opened. Nifty futures were down by about 55 points at 25,002 points.
There was a slight increase in it a day earlier
Earlier on Wednesday, the local stock market saw a marginal rise. In yesterday's trade, the Sensex closed at 81,785.56 points with a marginal gain of 73.80 points (0.09%). Similarly, after the end of trading, the Nifty closed at 25,052.35 points with a marginal gain of 34.60 points (0.14%). During trading, the Nifty managed to touch 25,129.60 points, which is its new all-time high.
