Stock market closed with a rise, Sensex closed at 73,095 points

As always, Tuesday's trading proved auspicious for the Indian stock market. After opening in the red in the morning, the market regained strong momentum as buying returned at lower levels. The market has regained momentum led by auto and IT stocks. At the end of today's trading, BSE Sensex crossed 73,000 by 305 points and closed at 73,095 points, while National Stock Exchange's Nifty increased by 72 points and closed at 22,193 points.

Whereas shares of oil and gas, energy and media sectors have seen a decline. In today's trading, Nifty Midcap index closed with losses due to selling in midcap stocks, while Smallcap index closed with gains due to buying in smallcap stocks. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 23 stocks closed with gains, while 7 stocks closed with decline. At the same time, out of 50 shares of Nifty, 29 shares closed with gains and 21 shares closed with decline.
