Sensex Nifty 50 All Time High: The stock market witnessed a buying spree today amid F&O expiry. The Sensex rose 760 points to reach an all-time high of 85930.43, close to 86000. The Nifty also crossed the crucial level of 26250 and registered a record high. Investors' capital increased by 2 lakh crores. The Sensex rose 666.25 points to close at 85836.12. While the Nifty jumped 211.90 points to close at 26216.05.
Even amid the global geopolitical crisis, the Indian stock market has been making new record highs every day for five consecutive trading sessions. After the announcement of interest rate cut by the US Fed, the American, Asian and Indian stock markets are moving ahead with attractive gains.
Metal-auto stocks rise
Metal and auto stocks rose during F&O settlement. As a result, the indices are trading more than 2 per cent higher. Apart from this, commodities have also seen a surge due to good rains with the possibility of a rise. At 3.22 am, out of the total 4072 stocks traded on BSE, 1668 rose and 2284 fell. Which shows the market breadth to be negative. Amid stock-specific gains, 256 stocks hit the year's highest level and 46 stocks hit the year's lowest level. Upper circuit was applied in 323 stocks and lower circuit in 267 stocks.
