Stock market boom on the last day of the financial year, market cap increased to Rs 388.4 lakh crore

Share Market News: There was a stormy rise in the Indian stock market on the last trading day of FY24. This morning BSE Sensex opened at 73149 with a jump of 153 points. NSE's 50 stock index Nifty 50 also opened up 39 points at 22163 on the last trading day of the week.

There was a tremendous surge in business

There was a rise in the stock market on the last trading day of the current financial year. During trading, Sensex and Nifty broke many previous records. At one time during trading, the Sensex jumped by almost 1,200 points to reach 74,190, while the Nifty also saw a jump of more than 400 points and was trading at 22,516 points. Amidst this surge, the market cap of all the stocks listed on BSE increased by Rs 4.78 lakh crore. It is worth Rs 388.4 lakh crore. It is noteworthy that now trading in the stock market will take place on the first day of the new financial year i.e. 1st April. Markets will remain closed on March 29 due to Good Friday and March 30 and 31 due to weekly holidays.

Buying was seen in midcap shares

A boom was seen in the last session of the financial year 2023-24. All sector indices of BSE closed with gains. Buying has been seen in midcap shares. Buying has also been seen in PSC, Pharma and Auto shares. Metal, Infra, FMCG indices also closed on the rise. However, today the rupee weakened by three paise. Sensex closed 655.04 points or 0.90 per cent higher at 73,651.35 and Nifty closed 203.20 points or 0.92 per cent higher at 22,326.90.
