Stock market at peak for the fourth consecutive day, Sensex and Nifty made a new record of strength

New Delhi, June 18 (HS). The record-breaking rise in the domestic stock market continued for the fourth consecutive day today. The stock market once again opened today by setting a new record of all-time high, improved its record further during the day's business and finally closed by setting a new record of all-time high closing. Due to today's rise in the market, the wealth of stock market investors increased by more than Rs 2.40 crore. After the whole day's trading, Sensex closed with a gain of 0.40 percent and Nifty with a gain of 0.39 percent.

During today's trading, the maximum buying was seen in the shares of consumer durables, realty, utility and telecom sectors. Apart from this, the Public Sector Enterprise, Banking, IT, Energy and Infrastructure index also managed to close with gains. On the other hand, the shares of FMCG, pharmaceutical and metal sectors continued to trade under pressure. There was continuous buying in the broader market today, due to which the BSE midcap index closed with a gain of 0.43 percent. Similarly, the smallcap index ended today's trading with a gain of 0.96 percent.

Due to the rise in the market today, the wealth of stock market investors increased by about Rs 2.5 lakh crore. The market capitalization of companies listed on BSE increased to Rs 437.30 lakh crore (provisional) after today's trading. Whereas on the last trading day of last week i.e. Friday, their market capitalization was Rs 434.88 lakh crore. In this way, investors made a profit of about Rs 2.42 lakh crore from today's trading.

There was active trading in 4,150 shares on BSE during today's trading. Of these, 2,173 shares closed with a gain while 1,828 shares showed a decline, whereas 149 shares closed without any fluctuation. There was active trading in 2,351 shares on NSE today. Of these, 1,297 shares closed in the green zone after making profits, while 1,054 shares closed in the red zone after incurring losses. Similarly, out of the 30 shares included in Sensex, 22 shares closed with a gain and 8 shares closed with a decline. While, out of the shares included in Nifty, 35 shares closed in the green zone and 15 shares closed in the red zone.

The BSE Sensex opened at 77,235.31 points today, setting a new record of all-time high with a jump of 242.54 points. After a slight shock of selling in the initial trade, the bulls completely established their dominance in the market, due to which the movement of this index also gained momentum. In the first hour of trading, this index jumped 374 points to reach its highest level till date at 77, 366.77 points. However, after this, there was a constant tug-of-war between buyers and sellers in the market, due to which there was a slight fluctuation in the movement of this index. After the whole day's trading, the Sensex closed at 77,301.14 points, setting a new record of all-time high closing with a strength of 308.37 points.

Like the Sensex, NSE's Nifty also created a new record of strength today and started trading at 23,570.80 points with a gain of 105.20 points. In the first hour of trading, this index rose by 113.45 points to reach its highest level of 23,579.05 points so far. After the whole day's trading, Nifty closed at the highest closing level of 23,557.90 points with a jump of 92.30 points.

After the day's trading, among the stock market's big stocks, Shriram Finance was up 3.57 percent, Power Grid Corporation 3.20 percent, Wipro 3.01 percent, Titan Company 1.67 percent and ICICI Bank 1.56 percent, which were included in the list of today's top 5 gainers. On the other hand, Maruti Suzuki was down 2.21 percent, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories 1.54 percent, Tata Steel 1.11 percent, UltraTech Cement 1.10 percent and Hero MotoCorp 0.85 percent, which were included in the list of today's top 5 losers.
