STF and Haridwar police attack Munnabhai Gang, arrest two national level copycats | News India

Haridwar, 19 August (HS). STF Uttarakhand and Haridwar police have succeeded in arresting two cheaters of Munna Bhai gang by raiding them. The accused had come to Haridwar from Bihar to solve the paper of Assistant Teacher, LT exam held last day. STF got information about this. STF and police laid a trap and arrested two accused.

According to the information, through surveillance and informers, STF Uttarakhand got information that Udham Singh, who has already been jailed in the case of getting people recruited in government jobs through fraudulent means, gets the papers solved by his acquaintance Anupam Kumar, who lives in Bihar. The accused will come to give the paper in the Assistant Teacher, LT exam to be held in Uttarakhand on August 18 at SVM Inter College Haridwar.

On this information, a joint team of STF Uttarakhand Dehradun and Kotwali Nagar Haridwar police station laid a network of informers around the concerned examination centre. On the information, 02 suspects were nabbed from near a carpenter's shop.

On asking the suspects about their name, address and the reason for standing outside the examination centre, it was found that the two suspects were Udham Singh son of Sukhpal Singh, resident of village Chakbandi, police station Sardhana, district Meerut, Uttar Pradesh and Anupam Kumar son of Banaras Prasad, resident near Devnarayan Market, behind Om Sai Hospital, Mohalla Ramakrishna Nagar, police station Ramakrishnanagar, Patna, Bihar. During interrogation, it was also found out that the alleged solver had to go to the examination centre and give the paper on behalf of another candidate, for which a deal was fixed to take Rs. 4 lakhs after giving the paper and Rs. 12 lakhs after getting selected (total Rs. 16 lakhs).

On checking the mobile phones of both the accused, a lot of chatting was found regarding conducting exams and planning centers for various central and state exams, etc. The accused Udham Singh has also shared the admit card and Aadhar card of the candidates from his mobile.

On the basis of the recovered evidence, a case has been registered against both the accused in Kotwali Nagar under the relevant sections. Both the accused had earlier also gone to jail in 2023 from Thana Brahmpuri District Meerut Uttar Pradesh in connection with fake recruitment, who have just come out on bail in February 2024. Police have recovered three mobiles and a replicated admission card from the accused. Police have registered a case against both of them and challaned them.
