Preparations for Mahakumbh 2025 have been completed in Prayagraj. Devotees from all over the world are coming to participate in this grand event. This time the special attraction of Mahakumbh is Lauren Jobs, wife of late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, who will participate here with her new identity as a monk named ‘Kamala’.
The journey from Lauren to ‘Kamala’
During the Mahakumbh, Lauren Jobs took initiation from Niranjani Peethadhishwar Swami Kailashanand Giri and was christened.
- Lauren was given the patronymic and surname.
- Swami Kailashanand Giri said, “Lauren has a deep interest in Sanatan Dharma. She considers me like her father, and I have also accepted her as my daughter.”
- After the christening, Lauren was named ‘Kamala’.
Kamla’s role in Mahakumbh
Kamala (Lauren Jobs) will stay in Mahakumbh for five days.
- Spiritual Experience: She will stay with the saints and engage in katha and discourse.
- Amrit Snan: Will participate in the royal bath of Makar Sankranti and Mouni Amavasya.
- Kalpvas: Kamla will observe Kalpvas during Mahakumbh and imbibe the traditions of Sanatan Dharma.
Namkaran and Ganga Aarti Experience in Varanasi
Before coming to Prayagraj, Lauren’s christening took place in Varanasi on Saturday.
- Kashi Vishwanath Darshan: After naming he visited Baba Vishwanath temple.
- Ganga Aarti: Participated in Ganga Aarti organized by Ganga Seva Nidhi at Dashashwamedh Ghat.
- Boating in the Ganges: He experienced spiritual peace by sailing in the river Ganges.
Lauren’s interest towards Sanatan Dharma
Lauren Jobs (now Kamala) has started this journey to deeply understand and assimilate Sanatan Dharma.
