Station master kept on fast in Palamu, did the work by wearing demand badge

Palamu, 16 October (Hindustan Reporter). On the call of the central officials of 'All India Station Masters Association' in support of various demands, all the station masters of Barwadih to Garhwa Road station performed their duty by fasting from 10 am on Wednesday. At Daltonganj station, the station manager worked by wearing a demand badge. Along with this, a memorandum related to the demands has been submitted to Palamu MP Vishnu Dayal Ram and he has been requested to take initiative towards fulfilling the demands.

Those who worked on fast included Station Superintendent Anil Kumar Dwivedi, Laxman Oraon, Shravan Singh, Amritesh Kumar, Bhim Kumar, Manish Kerketta, Ajay Kumar Ekka, Umesh Kumar, Shashank Shekhar, Sudhir Kumar, Jayant Kumar, Benjamin Lakra, Namanti Sosan Kujur. Station masters include Sanjeev Kumar Singh, Sabir, Inderjit Ram, Sanjay Kumar, Ashish Ranjan, Binod Kumar, Mithun Kumar Paswan, Satish Kumar, Suman Baitha, Uday Prasad Gupta, Uma Shankar Singh etc.

Station Manager Anil Kumar Dwivedi said that the Station Master always works for the country through Indian Railways but he has some problems which are pending till now. The Railway Board has not made any effort to resolve this issue. He said that due to this reason he was forced to adopt the path of hunger fast.

These are 10 demands

-MACP should be implemented from 01/01/2016.

Night duty allowance should be given to all the employees especially station masters in L-8 and L-9. Because, station masters of level 8 and 9 are doing duty in night shift.

-Cadre restructuring and better scales of gazetted ranks.

-Designation change.

-To provide security/stress allowance to station masters.

-Post of Supervisory Station Master (SMR) at all stations.

-The old pension scheme should be implemented for all employees.

-Inter Railway Transfer/Inter Divisional Transfer.

-12 hour duty roster should be abolished from Indian Railways.

-Stipend arrears were not given to station masters in some zones.

Apart from assurances nothing else was received.
