The Chief Minister said that with the success of the Krishi Mahotsav, which was started with the inspiration of the Prime Minister, the goal of making the state a leader in the agricultural revolution has been realized. Agricultural scientists accompany the farmers in such agricultural festivals to provide them understanding and guidance about what crops they can grow in their fields and how they can add value to agriculture.
Further, the Chief Minister requested the farmers to take advantage of the use of drones in agriculture and the support provided to the farming system by the state government. Not only this, he also said that the state government continuously helps the farmers against crop losses during natural calamities like unseasonal rains and cyclones with the generous assistance of agriculture relief package.
In this regard, the Chief Minister said that the government has paid an amount of Rs 1200 crore to the farmers out of the package of Rs 1419 crore, in lieu of the damage caused to the crops due to the disaster of unseasonal rain and storm. The Chief Minister also said that Krishi Mahotsav has become a guide for modern farming with technology and also said that Prime Minister Narendra Bhai has called for natural farming by thinking ahead of time.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel also gave inspiring suggestions to the farmers to increase the scope of this natural farming starting from one or two acres, to stop the degradation of soil and human health, and to adopt cow-based natural farming more and more. More. He also said that as a result of the natural farming campaign started by Governor Acharya Devvrat ji, till now about 9.85 lakh farmers of the state have adopted natural farming.
Describing irrigation and electricity as important for farming, the Chief Minister also said that the state government is moving ahead in a planned manner to meet the demand of farmers to provide electricity during the day. Bhupendra Patel also indicated to provide electricity to the farmers of the entire state in the next 6 to 8 months.
Ravi Krishi Mahotsav-2024 is scheduled to be organized in more than 246 talukas of the state during December 6 and 7. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, while inaugurating the Agricultural Festival across the state, honored 12 progressive farmers with the Sardar Patel Agricultural Research Award for their excellent research in the field of agriculture. On this occasion, the Chief Minister and Agriculture Minister also released an information booklet giving information about the latest technology in the field of agriculture and also distributed benefits worth Rs 11.48 lakh of various farmer-oriented schemes.
Agriculture Minister Raghavji Patel said that the government has taken many decisions in the interest of farmers. Many schemes are implemented and financial assistance as well as guidance is given through agricultural fairs. The government has promoted natural farming including new resources, new seeds, high yield, low-cost agriculture in agriculture by agricultural experts.
To ensure that farmers get the right price for their crops, the government declares support prices and pays more than 50 percent of the outstanding price. Recently support prices were declared for the purchase of groundnut, moong, urad and soybean. 160 procurement centers have been set up for the purchase of groundnuts and procurement has been started at support price. Assistance on all mechanical equipment is provided by the government in the interest of farmers.
The minister further said that in the last eight years, assistance worth Rs 11,000 crore has been given only for crop damage. Farmers are always worried about zero budget farming. He said that the government has taken various measures to convert farmers towards organic farming by setting up organic agriculture universities and boards to give impetus to the drive for organic farming.
