New Delhi, 09 December (Hindustan Reporter). The statement of a prosecution witness in the case registered against Jagdish Tytler, accused in the Pulbangash Gurdwara violence related to the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, was recorded in Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court on Monday. Special Judge Jitendra Singh ordered the next hearing of the case on December 20.
Jagdish Tytler appeared in the court today during the hearing. On November 12, cross-examination of the complainant in this case, Lakhwinder Kaur, was done. Anil Kumar Sharma, on behalf of Tytler, cross-examined the complainant in this case, Lakhwinder Kaur. Complainant Lakhwinder Kaur had recorded her statement in this case on October 3. Lakhwinder Kaur had said that Granthi Surender Singh told her that her husband Badal Singh was murdered by a mob near Gurudwara Pulbangash. Jagdish Tytler was instigating that crowd.
Tytler has challenged the order framing of charges on behalf of Rouse Avenue in the High Court, which is still pending. On November 11, the High Court had refused to stay the trial proceedings in Rouse Avenue Court and said that a murder case would be filed against him. Tytler had denied the charges against him in Rouse Avenue Court on 13 September. Tytler had told the court that he would face trial. On August 30, the court had ordered framing of charges against Tytler. The court had ordered framing of charges against Tytler under sections 147, 149, 153A, 188, 109, 295, 380, 302 of the Indian Penal Code.
