State Police will now tighten the noose on drug dealers through money trail

Ranchi, March 8 (HS). The state police has made a special plan against the drug trade spreading in many big cities including the capital Ranchi. Under this, preparations have been made to reach the kingpin by investigating the money trail of drug smugglers. In this regard, CID DG has given many guidelines to the SPs of the districts.

It has become clear so far in the investigation of CID and District Police that online payment is used more than cash for drug smuggling. Investigation has revealed that drug smugglers transact money online 90 percent of the time. In such a situation, if the money trail of drug smugglers is investigated in depth, then the noose can be tightened against those involved in this business both inside and outside the state.

Ranchi Range DIG Anoop Birthare said that CID DG Anurag Gupta had held a review meeting regarding the ongoing action against drugs. In the meeting, several strategies have been prepared for action against drug smugglers, the most important of which is to collect complete information about the bank accounts of drug smugglers and find out about their money trail. Through Money Trail, it will be known to which accounts the drug smugglers in Ranchi get money transferred to their accounts by selling drugs like brown sugar, opium, ganja and heroin.

Bank accounts of drug smugglers arrested across the state are being scrutinized to trace the money trail. According to police officials, small criminals are often caught in action against drug smugglers, but which big gang is behind all this? Money trail can prove to be very helpful in gathering information about it.

CID DG has instructed the SPs of all the districts to open a dossier for surveillance action against those smugglers whose names are repeatedly appearing in drug smuggling. Also, the bailiffs of those smugglers who have been granted bail should be verified. The seizure of recovered drugs should be properly prepared.
