Champawat, 14 October (Hindustan Reporter). The state level Lohaghat Cup was inaugurated on Monday at the playground of Government Inter College Lohaghat. Along with seven teams from the state, the team from Nepal is participating in the competition.
On Monday, Lohaghat Football Federation President Brijesh Mehra and chief guest state agitator Advocate Naveen Murari, special guest Uttarakhand Football Federation Vice President Prahlad Singh Mehta, senior footballer Chhatar Singh Dhek, teacher Shyam Chaubey jointly inaugurated the competition.
Today's match was played between Pithoragarh (DSC) and Champawat Champions. In an exciting match, Pithoragarh took the lead by scoring a goal within 03 minutes of the start of the game. In the second half of the game, Champawat leveled the match by scoring a goal. Pithoragarh won the match by scoring another goal in the last minute of the match. In the competition, there will be a match between Nepal and Pithoragarh on 16th October. There will be a clash between Lohaghat and Tanakpur in tomorrow's match.
Lohaghat Football Association President Brijesh Mahara and Vimal Mehta said that apart from Nepal, top seven teams of the state are participating in the competition. The winning team will be given a cash prize of Rs 50,000 and the runner-up will be given a cash prize of Rs 30,000.
