Ranchi, 02 December (HS). BJP State President and former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi, while advising State Chief Minister Hemant Soren, has expressed concern over the socio-economic condition of the primitive tribes of the state, especially the Pahadia community living in the Santhal Pargana region.

Marandi wrote on social media X on Monday that the economic and social condition of the primitive tribes of Jharkhand, especially the Pahadia community, is not hidden from anyone. Even today this community is far away from the mainstream of development and is deprived of basic facilities. There is neither proper access to roads to their villages nor are they able to avail the benefits of health services.

He has written that there is a severe lack of basic facilities like quality education and drinking water. Serious diseases like malnutrition, anemia, malaria have become a part of their life. Marandi said that most of the middlemen grab the benefits of the schemes made for the upliftment of the Pahadia community.

He has written that during his frequent visits to these hilly areas, seeing the pitiful condition of the Pahadia community, it is clearly evident that their condition is extremely worrying.

Marandi has written that even after 75 years of independence, such situation of the primitive tribal society is worrying for the state. He requested the Chief Minister to constitute a special committee for the overall upliftment of the primitive tribes of Jharkhand, especially the Pahadia community. Based on the survey and recommendations made through the committee, a concrete action plan for one year should be prepared, so that their problems can be permanently solved.
