Lucknow, 14 December (HS). In the provincial meeting of the State Employees Joint Council in the auditorium of the Public Works Department, Chairman Engineer Harikishore Tiwari and Acting General Secretary Dr. Naresh expressed concern over the formation of Pay Commission to be implemented in ten years as per the rules and non-issuance of orders on the issues decided at the government level and the lack of respect for employee teachers. Considering the pending demands at the department level, a state-wide movement was announced in the month of January 2025.
Engineer Harikishore Tiwari, Chairman of the State Employees Joint Council, said that the Pay Commission comes every ten years, hence the Eighth Pay Commission should be constituted immediately. During the 11-day strike in 2013 over not getting vehicle allowance despite using a motorcycle for government work, the then Chief Justice of the High Court D.Y. Despite the instructions of Chandrachud ji, even after making clear rules in 2016, they have not been implemented till date.
He said that despite agreeing to the legitimate demands of various constituent unions, they are not being resolved even after high level orders from the authorities. Council General Secretary Shivbaran Singh Yadav said that after continuous protests, rallies and talks for the last 11 years for restoration of old pension, about 80 percent to 90 percent of the employees will get the benefit. The order is yet to come. After seeing the order, agitation programs will be decided to get the workers rectified in it.
