Varanasi, 30 October (HS). Uttar Pradesh Congress President Ajay Rai on Wednesday met Kushal Jaiswal, husband of detained party leader Roshni Jaiswal, and other workers at District Jail Chowkaghat. While consoling Kushal Jaiswal and other 06 workers who were in jail for the last 45 days, the State President said that the party will support them in the fight for justice. The party termed the order for attachment of Roshni Jaiswal's house as wrong.
After coming out of jail, the State President said that a woman raised her voice against the person who threatened her with rape for her self-respect and protection. Is this a crime? Is it wrong to fight back for our rights and safety? He said that Congress leader Roshni Jaiswal's husband, brother and 5 other people are in jail for the last 40 days, order has been given for attachment of Roshni's house. Roshni herself is living a life of anonymity with her nine year old child. What does the state government want, for a woman to silently bear the threat of rape? What kind of justice is this where the victim is being tortured? Such an example should be set in the state where those who write such words for girls will be shocked. Roshni will have to be given justice as per law. Along with the State President, District President Rajeshwar Patel, Metropolitan President Raghavendra Choubey, Gulshan Ali, Dilip Choubey, Satnam Singh and Mayank Choubey were also present in meeting the activists detained in the jail.
