State Cabinet meeting: 33 percent reservation for women approved in police force | News India

Jaipur, 04 September (HS). In the cabinet meeting held in the Chief Minister's Office on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, important decisions related to women empowerment, specially abled and elderly welfare and development of the state were taken. Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Prem Chand Bairwa and Law and Justice Minister Jogaram Patel addressed the press conference and gave information about the decisions taken by the cabinet.

Representation of women will increase in police force

Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Prem Chand Bairwa said that before the assembly elections, in 'Apna Agrani Rajasthan Sankalp Patra-2023', we had promised to recruit at least 33 percent women in the police force, giving priority to women's safety. In this regard, a proposal to amend the Rajasthan Police Subordinate Service Rules, 1989 has been approved in the cabinet meeting today. A notification will be issued soon by the Personnel Department in this regard. He said that this decision will provide more employment opportunities to women in the state and the representation of women in Rajasthan Police will increase. Also, the police will be able to work with more sensitivity in matters related to women.

Now specially abled children are also eligible to join PPO

Dr. Bairwa informed that the cabinet has taken another important decision in the interest of the state government employees. Now, on the retirement of the state government employees, if there is no other eligible member, the name of specially abled children, dependent parents and specially abled siblings can also be permanently added in the Pension Payment Order (PPO). For this, approval has been given to amend Rule 67 and 87 of Rajasthan Civil Service Pension Rules, 1996 in accordance with the pension rules of the Central Government.

Pensioners will get 5 percent additional allowance

The Deputy Chief Minister informed that Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, while giving relief to pensioners during the discussion on the Rajasthan Appropriation and Finance Bill in the Assembly, had announced 5 percent additional allowance for pensioners between 70 and 75 years of age and family pensioners. In this sequence, approval to replace Rule 54B of Rajasthan Civil Service Pension Rules, 1996 was also given in the Cabinet today.

A solar power project of 3000 MW capacity will be set up in Ramgarh of Jaisalmer

Law and Justice Minister Jogaram Patel said that the state government is constantly making efforts to make the state self-reliant in the field of energy by increasing power generation. In this direction, approvals for land allocation for 3 thousand 150 MW solar power projects were given in the cabinet meeting today. He said that a 3 thousand MW solar power project based on Crystalline Technology with Tracker will be set up in Ramgarh No.-1, a subdivision tehsil of Jaisalmer district. Under the Rajasthan Land Revenue (Land allocation for setting up power plants based on renewable energy sources) Rules, 2007, a total of 6877.66 hectares of land will be allocated for this project. Apart from this, a proposal for allocation of 300 hectares of land in Fatehgarh tehsil of Jaisalmer district for a 150 MW solar power project has also been approved. He said that the establishment of solar power projects will increase employment opportunities and increase the state's revenue.

Two more services included in the notification regarding appointment of outstanding sportspersons

Patel informed that a notification was issued on November 21, 2019 to clarify the definition of sportspersons in relation to the provision of 2 percent reservation in appointments to services under the state for outstanding sportspersons. At the time of substituting this clarification regarding outstanding sportspersons, this provision was left out from being included in two service rules “Rajasthan Language and Library (State and Subordinate) Service Rules, 2013” and “Rajasthan Excise Laboratory (State and Subordinate) Service Rules, 2015”. He informed that the draft amendment in the rules to include the clarification regarding outstanding sportspersons in these service rules was approved in the Cabinet meeting today.
