In a case related to illegal mining, the then Chief Minister Pankaj Mishra and others were arrested by the ED and sent to jail. Alamgir Alam is already an accused in ECIR in this case. However, ED has not yet taken action against Alamgir in the case related to illegal mining. But after the arrest of Divisional Chief Engineer Virendra Ram, he was on the radar of ED. Now ED can take strict action against departmental OSD after recovering crores of rupees from them.
