The Liverpool club, which recently suffered a 2-0 defeat against Everton, is in third place with 74 points from 34 matches. City has achieved its fourth win in the last five matches.
Kevin De Bruyne scored for Manchester City in the 17th minute. Phil Foden scored in the 26th and 34th minutes to make the score 3–0 and send Brighton to defeat. In the second half, Julian Alvarez scored in the 62nd minute to make the score 4-0. Under manager Pep Guardiola, Foden became only the third footballer to reach 50 goals in the top league, joining the elite club of Lionel Messi and Erling Haaland.
