Former Haryana Minister Sandeep Singh: Troubles have increased for former Haryana Sports Minister Sandeep Singh, who is embroiled in molestation of a junior female coach. On Monday, charges were framed against Sandeep Singh in Chandigarh District Court under sections 354, 354A, 354B, 509 and 506 of the IPC. The hearing of the case will begin on August 17.
The court of ACJM Rahul Garg rejected the plea of former Sports Minister Sandeep Singh to dismiss the allegations and to register a case against Sandeep Singh under Sections 511 and 376 of the IPC for molesting the victim female coach. Now during the next hearing, the case will be run against Sandeep Singh and the statements of witnesses will be recorded.
Let us tell you that on 26 December 2022, the junior women's coach had lodged a complaint with the Chandigarh Police against the then Sports Minister of Haryana, Sandeep Singh, for sexual harassment and other allegations. After investigation, the police registered a case against Sandeep Singh under sections 342, 354, 354A, 354B, 506 of the IPC at Sector-26 police station at 11 pm on December 31.
The complainant junior women's coach had alleged that on July 1, 2022, Sandeep Singh called her to his house and molested her. The police had registered a case against Sandeep Singh at Sector-26 police station and started investigation, but since the case was related to a Haryana minister, a special investigation team (SIT) was formed under the leadership of DSP (East) Palak Goyal.
The SIT comprised Inspector Ranjeet Singh, in-charge of the cyber police station, Inspector Usha, in-charge of the women's police station and a woman SI. After the SIT's investigation, the police also added section 509 of the IPC against Sandeep Singh.
