India's women's 4x400m relay team qualified for the Paris Olympics after finishing second in the second round of the World Athletics Relays. Along with this, India's men's 4x400m relay team also succeeded in securing a ticket to the Paris Olympics during the second stage of the World Athletics in Nassau, Bahamas. The team of Rupal Chowdhary, MR Poovamma, Jyothika Dandi and Subha Venkatesan finished second behind Jamaica (3:28.54 seconds) in the Hit No. 1 event with a timing of 3:29.35 seconds. The Indian women's team finished fifth in the first round qualifying heat on Sunday with a timing of 3 minutes 29.74 seconds.
The men's team of Mohammad Anas Yahiya, Mohammad Ajmal, Arokia Rajiv and Amoj Jacob clocked 3:3.23 seconds in their heat to finish second behind America (2:59.95 seconds). The top two teams in the three heats of the second stage qualify for the Paris Olympics.
