Sports: Indian team will not go to Pakistan for Champions Trophy: Rajeev Shukla

BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla has made it clear that the Indian team will be sent for the Champions Trophy to be hosted by Pakistan next year only after the approval of the government. Rajiv Shukla said that we will respect the government's order regarding the Indian team playing in the Champions Trophy. We send the team only when the government gives us permission. We will follow the government's decision. It is noteworthy that during the Asia Cup last year, Board President Roger Binny and Vice President Rajeev Shukla had gone to Pakistan.

After getting security assurance, Pakistan team came to India to play the 2023 ODI World Cup. The match between the two teams was played in Ahmedabad in which India won. Recently, the Indian Davis Cup team had gone to Islamabad, Pakistan and after the tennis team got the green signal to go to Pakistan, there are speculations that the cricket team will also be allowed to go to Pakistan. India last toured Pakistan in 2008. Under the captaincy of Dhoni, the Indian team reached the final of the Asia Cup but lost to Sri Lanka.
