Italy's reigning world champion Francesco Bagnaia has won the Japan MotoGP by defeating Spanish rival Jorge Martin. It is Francesco's eighth Grand Prix win of the current season and his first in Japan MotoGP.
Francesco overtook pole-sitter Pedro Acosta on the first lap at Motegi and finished 1.189 seconds ahead of Martin. Marc Marquez finished third. Ducati rider Francesco also won the sprint race on Saturday. After winning Japan MotoGP, he said that today's race was not easy. The speed of all the racers in the first 10 laps was tremendous. Martin started from 11th on the grid after failing in qualifying. He finished fourth in the sprint race. He said that he was happy to be the Grand Prix runner-up.
