PM Vishwakarma Scheme: The Modi government has started many such schemes, which are benefiting the poor class. One such scheme is PM Vishwakarma. This scheme was started on 17 September 2023. This year on September 17, this scheme of PM Modi will complete one year. Let us tell you that the purpose of PM Vishwakarma Yojana is to provide assistance to those artisans and craftsmen who work with the help of their hands and tools.

What types of businesses will benefit?

The scheme covers 18 occupations – carpenter, boat builder, weapon maker, blacksmith, hammer and tool kit maker, locksmith, goldsmith, potter, sculptor (sculptor, stone carver), stone breaker, cobbler/cobbler, mason, basket/mat/broom maker/coir weaver, doll and toy maker (traditional), barber, garland maker, washerman, tailor and artisans and craftsmen engaged in fishing net manufacturing.

Benefits to Artisans and Craftsmen

(i) Identification: Identification of artisans and craftsmen through PM Vishwakarma Certificate and ID Card.

(ii) Skill Upgradation: Basic training for 5-7 days and advanced training for 15 days or more with a stipend of Rs. 500 per day.

(iii) Toolkit Incentive: Toolkit incentive of up to Rs 15,000 in the form of e-voucher at the beginning of basic skill training.

(iv) Loan Assistance: Loan upto Rs. 3 lakh as 'Udyam Vikas Loan' without any collateral will be provided at concessional interest rate of 5 per cent in 2 instalments of Rs. 1 lakh and Rs. 2 lakh respectively for a period of 18 months and 30 months with a subvention of upto 8 per cent by Government of India.

Beneficiaries who have completed basic training will be eligible to receive the first tranche of loan assistance up to Rs 1 lakh. The second loan tranche will be available to beneficiaries who have received the first tranche and hold a standard loan account and have adopted digital transactions in their business or have received advanced training.
