Those families of the district whose kutcha and pucca houses have been completely damaged due to excessive rainfall and water logging and their names are not in the list of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, will be provided a special package to build houses. District in-charge and Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silavat said this in a meeting called on Thursday to review the relief distribution work to the families affected by excessive rainfall in the district. He praised the entire team of the district administration for promptly providing help and prompt relief funds to the families affected by excessive rainfall.
It was informed in the meeting that the kutcha and pucca houses of a total of 1342 families in the district were completely damaged. Of these, names of 163 families are included in the waiting list of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. After making a list of the remaining 1179 families, a proposal for a special package has been sent to the government. Apart from this, permission has also been sought from the government to give priority to 163 families included in the waiting list of PM Awas Yojana.
It was told in the meeting that 12 thousand 575 families were affected in the district due to excessive rainfall and water logging. For these, a relief amount of about Rs 6 crore 71 lakh 85 thousand was sanctioned under the provisions of the Revenue Book Circular of the State Government. Out of this, financial assistance worth Rs 6 crore 55 lakh 63 thousand has reached the bank accounts of 12 thousand 364 families. Immediate action is being taken for those whose money has not reached their accounts due to bank account errors and other technical reasons. Silavat also gave instructions to finalize the crop survey as soon as possible and transfer the relief amount to the accounts of the affected farmers under the provisions of the government. It was told in the meeting that the survey work has been completed. The survey is to be finalized only in those paddy fields which are filled with water till the top.
In the meeting held in the Collectorate, issues like fertilizer and seed distribution system, repair of rain damaged roads and power lines, prevention of diseases, traffic system, ban on adulteration in food items, law and order during Navadurga Mahotsav and other festivals etc. were also reviewed. Farmers should not have to stand in line for fertilizer
In the meeting, the Minister in-charge instructed the Marketing Association and Agriculture Department officials that the arrangements for distribution of fertilizers and seeds for the Rabi season should be such that farmers do not have to stand in queues for fertilizers. He stressed that strictest action should be taken against those who dare to do black marketing of fertilizers. For this, form a team and get the investigation done. He also gave instructions to activate the fertilizer distribution center Chinaur. It was told in the meeting that sufficient quantity of NPK and urea fertilizers are available in the district. In the meeting, MP Bharat Singh Kushwaha, MLA Mohan Singh Rathore and Kaushal Sharma also gave suggestions regarding the fertilizer distribution system. The Divisional Commissioner and Collector assured to implement these suggestions and make better arrangements for fertilizer distribution.

MP Kushwaha suggested to ensure availability of fertilizers in Rabi season in a phased manner. He said that in the first phase, arrangements should be made for fertilizer for sowing of mustard. In the second phase, arrangements for fertilizers should be made for the wheat crop and in the third phase, for the crops sown after the Kharif crop is harvested. Kushwaha also asked to take effective measures to maintain smooth supply of electricity for irrigation in rural areas during Rabi season. He has also appealed to the farmer brothers to collect fertilizer as per their need. Do not stock fertilizer unnecessarily. There will be no shortage of fertilizers by the government.
Ensure repair of damaged roads within 20 days
Minister Silavat gave instructions to repair the roads damaged due to excessive rainfall and water logging on war footing. He asked the Municipal Corporation Commissioner to complete the repair of the roads of Gwalior city within 20 days. He also asked to get the Chowk sewer lines of various settlements of the city repaired as part of the campaign. Also, by running a special campaign, instructions were given to remove encroachments from all such drains of the city due to which the situation of water logging was created.
Strictly prevent food adulteration
In the meeting, Minister Silavat laid special emphasis on intensifying the campaign being run to prevent adulteration in food items keeping the festivals in mind. He directed to complete the construction of the laboratory under construction in Gwalior for testing food items within a month. Also said that during festivals, security arrangements should be made keeping in mind religious sentiments. Also, there should be no compromise with law and order. Silavat directed to release the doctors and paramedical staff from rural areas attached to the city hospitals to the respective rural hospitals.
