IPL 2024: The first match of IPL 2024 was played between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore. In this match, Chennai Super Kings team captained by Ruturaj Gaikwad registered a spectacular victory. A big record was also made during this match between CSK and RCB. This is the highest score in a match without scoring any half-century in the history of IPL.
This record was broken after six years
Earlier this record was in the names of Gujarat Lions and Rising Pune Supergiant. In the match played between these two teams in 2017, no batsman could touch the 50-run mark and a total of 343 runs were scored in the entire match. Now after six years, this record has been broken in the match between CSK and RCB. Coincidentally, Mahendra Singh Dhoni was in both these matches.
How was the match between CSK and RCB?
After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Royal Challengers Bangalore scored 173 runs at the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. Captain Faf du Plessis (35) along with Virat Kohli (21) gave a stormy start to the team. Rajat Patidar and Glenn Maxwell returned to the pavilion without opening the account.
