Special campaign against drugs, strict action will be taken against smugglers | Live Updates, Unveiling the Latest India News Trends

Hisar, May 27 (HS). Deputy Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya has instructed the officers to take strict action against the criminals involved in smuggling of illegal drugs. He said that every necessary step should be taken to prevent drug abuse. He was giving instructions to the officers while chairing the meeting of Narco Coordination Center (NCORD) in the video conference hall located in the Mini Secretariat complex on Monday.

In the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner was informed that under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, a nodal officer has been appointed in every school in the district. Awareness programs like painting, poster making, slogan writing, speech and quiz competitions have been held in a total of 1041 government and private schools in the district under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. In the last month, 6 de-addiction centers have been inspected by the CMO. 275 patients have availed the OPD in the de-addiction centers established in the Civil Hospital.

The District Drug Control Officer told in the meeting that 27 medical stores were inspected last month in which NDPS related medicines were found in 7 medical stores. On matching the records of 6 medical stores, they were found to be correct but the license of one medical store was suspended for 7 days as its records were not found and the matter has been sent to the licensing authority.

The Deputy Commissioner said that strict legal action is being taken against those who break the law as per the rules. In this, the legal process is completed under the supervision of the duty magistrate in the investigation of the police department under the NDPS Act.

He instructed the officers of the concerned departments that under the Act, the officers will have to discharge their duties with more vigilance. Psychiatric facilities are available in the general hospital, so that any family can get the treatment of a person suffering from drug addiction. The Deputy Commissioner instructed all the concerned officers to run a special awareness campaign against drug addiction in the district. Hisar Superintendent of Police Mohit Handa, Hansi Superintendent of Police Maqsood Ahmed, SDM Jaiveer Yadav, District Council CEO Kulbhushan Bansal and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
