Buenos Aires, November 2 (HS). Spain's World Cup winner Sergio Ramos could join Boca Juniors on a free transfer, according to Argentinian media reports.
According to TYC Sports, the 38-year-old has held preliminary talks with Boca president Juan Roman Riquelme and manager Fernando Gago.
Gago, who took charge of Boca Juniors last month, was Ramos's teammate at Real Madrid from 2007 to 2012 and according to the outlet, the two maintain a close friendship.
According to reports, the Buenos Aires giants have offered the central defender an annual salary of five million euros (approximately US$5.4 million).
Ramos, who was an integral part of the Spain team that won the 2010 World Cup and back-to-back UEFA European Championships in 2008 and 2012, has been without a club since leaving Sevilla in June.
