SP will join Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra only after seat distribution is decided: Akhilesh Yadav

Amethi: Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav said on Monday that a definite decision will be taken on 'seat sharing', only then our party will participate in (Rahul Gandhi's) Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra.

Talking to journalists, Akhilesh said, 'Talks are going on between Samajwadi Party and Congress regarding seat sharing. This is also progressing further. A list has also been given by him. We have also given them a list and as soon as the seats are distributed, the Samajwadi Party will join the Nyay Yatra.

Earlier in an interview given to a TV channel, Yadav had said that Rahul Gandhi is insisting on some candidates and seats. That's why the 'seat-sharing' agreement is getting delayed.

Let us tell you that talks were going on between Akhilesh Yadav and Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, but no concrete decision has been taken yet.

Earlier, Kharge had invited Akhilesh to join the Nyay Yatra in Amethi or Rae Bareli, which he accepted and also played the role of driver in Rahul's jeep.

It is well known that in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Samajwadi Party did not field its candidates from Amethi or Rae Bareli seats. But this time there are differences between the two parties regarding seat sharing.

Earlier Samajwadi Party was ready to give only 11 seats to Congress, now it has agreed to give 15 seats out of 80 seats.
