SP leader Azam Khan acquitted in code of conduct violation case | News India

Rampur, August 28 (HS). The MP-MLA court of Rampur on Wednesday acquitted Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan while hearing a case of violation of the code of conduct. He is currently imprisoned in Sitapur jail.

This entire case is from the time of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. During the Lok Sabha elections, the then SDM Sadar PP Tiwari had lodged a case in Ganj police station on April 24. He alleged that Azam Khan had reached the polling station set up in Raza Degree College in violation of the code of conduct by car. Whereas the rules were that no one can enter in a car within a radius of two hundred meters. In this regard, the then returning officer had lodged a case against him. The MP-MLA court, while giving its verdict in this case on Wednesday, acquitted Azam Khan due to lack of evidence. Azam Khan, who is lodged in Sitapur jail, appeared through video conferencing.
