Mumbai: The trend of reviving the voices of dead singers through AI and singing new songs in their voices has started. However, late singer S. P. Thus Balasubramaniam’s family has refused to allow AI to use their father’s voice.
The singer himself is his son S. P. Charan said that he has received proposals from many musicians for this. But, they are not in favor of it. Every singer has the right to choose which song he wants to sing. Such rights cannot be given to anyone in place of the deceased father.
He also said that with the help of AI, a singer’s voice can be recreated but his emotions cannot be brought out. No one knows whether my father would have agreed to work and sing that song with a musician who brought such a proposal. We will not play the character of any musician who uses his voice.
