Taking action against the illegal extortion going on at the UP-Bihar border in Bharouli of Narhi, the famous police station of the district, ADG Zone Varanasi Piyush Mordia and DIG Azamgarh Range Vaibhav Krishna conducted a joint raid from Thursday to noon. In which two policemen were arrested while illegally extorting money from trucks at Bharouli check post situated on the UP-Bihar border. Now in this case, FIR has been lodged against 23 people including suspended inspector Pannalal of Narhi police station, suspended in-charge of Korantadih police post Rajesh Kumar Prabhakar and five constables. While the responsible people from SP to post have been caught. On the instructions of the Chief Minister, SP Devranjan Verma and ASP DP Tiwari have been removed and put on waiting list. At the same time, CO Sadar has been suspended. The government has instructed that the investigation of the entire case is being done by SP Azamgarh. At the same time, Vigilance will investigate the property of all those including the suspended CO and SO, against whom FIR has been lodged.
