Earthquake damage reported

According to the UK Earthquake Research Center, the earthquake that occurred this morning caused power outage in Muswellbrook, Denman, Jerrys Plains, Bangalla, Burin. About 2500 people have become homeless. The rescue team that reached the spot after getting the information is working after continuous efforts. The power line was broken. The earthquake was also felt outside the Hunter region. 850 complaints of damage due to the earthquake have been received. Apart from this, earthquake tremors were also felt in the interior areas. About 100 people have reported that their property has been damaged in some way. Cracks have appeared in people's houses. They saw doors and windows shaking.

People said there was an earthquake

According to information, the earthquake caused rocks to fall in the Mount Earthquake coal mine, injuring miners. Apart from this, work was stopped at an open pit five kilometers away from Muswellbrugh. A local woman said that even though her house is 150 kilometers away from the earthquake site, her house started shaking and the safes of the house started shaking.

Another resident of Muswellbrook said their house shook for several seconds, causing pictures in the bedroom and near the bed to fall down. Significantly, a magnitude 4.7 earthquake struck near a nuclear power station in New South Wales on August 23. Another magnitude 4.5 earthquake struck near Muswellbrook on the evening of August 24.
