Seoul, 07 December (HS). South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol has folded his hands and apologized to the public for his recent announcement of martial law. However he did not offer to resign. Yun is scheduled to face the opposition’s impeachment motion in a plenary session of the National Assembly today. The ruling party has already announced not to support President Yeol. President Yoon Suk Yeol addressed the nation on television from his office at 10 a.m. today (South Korea time), according to The Korea Times newspaper.
He said that he will not shirk his political and constitutional responsibility. Neither want to escape. He will hand over everything to the ruling party. The President said that he is sincerely apologizing to the country. He said that he is assuring that there will never be another martial law. He will hand over everything to the ruling People’s Power Party (PPP). Yeol said that political stability is necessary in the country. PPP will give stability to the country. PPP and the government will jointly discharge this responsibility. President Yoon Suk Yeol said (bowing his head), “I apologize to the public for this situation.” He ended his address by bowing to the public.
