Sana Ganguly, daughter of former Indian cricket team captain Sourav Ganguly, became the victim of a road accident on Diamond Harbor Road in Kolkata on Friday evening. Sana was not injured in the accident. According to reports, Sana was sitting in her car on the driver’s side seat when her car was hit by a bus near Behala Chowrasta.
After the incident the bus driver fled from the spot. However, the driver of Sana’s car immediately followed her and stopped the bus near Sakher Bazaar.
Police arrested the bus driver
According to India Today report, Sana Ganguly informed the police after the accident. The police took immediate action and arrested the bus driver. Sana’s car suffered minor damage in this collision.
Who is Sana Ganguly?
Sana Ganguly is the only daughter of Sourav Ganguly and his wife Donna Ganguly. He completed his schooling from Loreto House, Kolkata and then obtained a degree in Economics from University College London.
Sana is currently working as a consultant at INNOVERV, a London-based boutique consulting firm. Apart from this, Sana also has professional experience having interned in reputed companies like PricewaterhouseCoopers and Deloitte. He has also worked full-time with an organization called Enactus.
Sana’s activism on social issues
Sana Ganguly also keeps making her presence felt on social issues. In August 2024, she took part in a candle march organized in protest against the rape and murder of a junior doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, Kolkata. During this, Sana had said:
“We want justice. Such incidents should stop. It is sad to hear such incidents happening even in 2024.”
Apart from this, in December 2019, Sana had shared a post on Instagram against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). On this, Sourav Ganguly had clarified that the post was not true and requested people to keep Sana away from such controversies.
