Sonipat: Waiver of interest and penalty on farmers' loan gave great relief: MP Ramesh Kaushik

Sonipat, 24 February (HS). MP Ramesh Kaushik said that the Haryana government has taken care of the interests of every section of the state with the thought of all-round development in the budget 2024-25. The government has given great relief to the farmers by waiving off the interest and penalty on their loan. The budget of all departments including agriculture, irrigation, animal husbandry, fisheries, horticulture has been increased. In the budget, a provision of thousands of crores has been made to bring water from Hathni Kund Barrage for irrigation and drinking water of farmers in South Haryana.

The MP said that by removing the charges for customers with electricity consumption less than 200 units, the common man will get further concession in electricity rates. Eight new hospitals for livestock, dispensaries at block level and mobile dispensaries have been started in villages for timely treatment of animals. He thanked the Chief Minister for allocating Rs 7276.77 crore in the budget for the overall development of rural areas and said that this will strengthen and accelerate rural development.

He said that compared to the revised estimates of Rs 6213.27 crore for the current financial year, an increase of 17.11 percent has been made, which has happened for the first time in the history of Haryana. In the budget, the pension of media workers was also increased from Rs 10 thousand to Rs 15 thousand per month. Insurance coverage has been increased from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh.
