Son travelled 16,000 km from London to Thane to surprise his mother

Mumbai: After the information about the bus between London and Calcutta went viral some time ago, many of today's youth were wondering how to reach Calcutta from London by bus! But recently, Virajit Mungale, a son living in London, traveled by car from London to Thane to meet his mother living in Thane near Mumbai. He drove the car for 59 days. He reached Thane from London, crossing 16 countries and covering a distance of more than 18 thousand km. His wife and friends encouraged him to do this venture but as soon as he reached Thane, his mother scolded him for such a venture.

Virajit Mungale is a British Indian. Due to his passion for car driving and travelling, he preferred to come by car instead of the short flight journey. He took two months leave and obtained the necessary clearances to pass through all the countries on the way.

Virajit was very impressed with the story of the historic Silk Road. He dreamed of a similar journey. During his journey, he covered a distance of about 400 to 600 kilometers a day. Also, keeping safety in mind, he avoided driving at night. From London to Thane, he passed through countries like Germany, Russia, China and also enjoyed the taste of food there.

However, this journey was not easy. At many places on the way, he also faced illness due to altitude and low oxygen. He faced many difficulties due to the altitude of 5200 meters and bad weather. However, Virajit will not do a road trip again on the return. He will send his car back to London by ship and return by flight himself.
